Recently in Menopause (The Journal of The North American Menopause Society), there was an editorial on the importance of precision menopausal medicine. Precision menopausal medicine takes into account the many positive effects of estrogen therapy in not only treating menopausal symptoms but treating women at risk for many other health issues such as vascular disease.
Several studies have documented the positive effects of hormone therapy with respect to reducing risk of heart attack, stroke, and death. In addition, hormone therapy provides many women with an enhanced sense of well-being, strengthens elastic tissue, prevents vaginal dryness, strengthens bones, and prevents hair loss.
